Due to various reasons, including cultural norms and customs, data source availability, and the breadth and depth of data source records, it may be preferable to use a different set of match criteria in certain countries.
For reference, the default match criteria used in GDC configurations are as follows:
- 1x1 (eIDV) verification: name + address OR name + partial address + ID against one source
- 2x2 (AML) verification: name + address against one source, and name + address OR ID against a second source
Terms such as name, address, and ID reference multiple underlying fields with their own match rules. For more information see the Integration Guide.
Although the reliability codes returned by the GDC service are based on the default rules, GDC API responses also include AU and MT messages which can be used to perform a custom verification as desired. GDC recommends this approach for certain countries in order to improve match rates without sacrificing verification integrity. For more information on AU and MT messages, see Standard Verification Codes & Messages. Reviewing the Required Input Fields for each country is also recommended.
